CWF Community College Network Convening - October 2012
Sixteen schools from across the country met at Skyline College in San Bruno, California, for the annual convening of the Center for Working Families (CWF) at community colleges network. During this second annual convening, nine college presidents shared their thoughts about getting buy-in from college leadership and staff, sustaining the work, and how to expand the CWF approach at their respective institutions. Presidents were open and honest about the challenges of infusing the CWF approach into their institutional structure, but explained how they were able to make the case for using the model by showing how the approach has improved term-to-term retention rates for students who had significant barriers to success.
